Un VOX AC30/6 TB JMI dei primi anni '60 con coni Blue Bulldog e unità Top Boost aggiunta è agli occhi di tantissimi chitarristi, il Santo Graal degli amplificatori per chitarra.

Ancora una volta il solerte Dick Denney a compiere un ulteriore perfezionamento al circuito dell’AC30. La risposta di Denney alle istanze dei musicisti più esigenti fu un modulo supplementare che recava una valvola preamplificatrice aggiuntiva e due potenziometri per la regolazione dei toni sul canale Brilliant. Questa unità, nota come Brilliance, nel 1961 divenne disponibile come accessorio opzionale sui cataloghi Vox, dove era segnalata con il nome di Top Boost. Il modulo poteva essere installato da un tecnico attraverso un’apertura che andava praticata nel pannello posteriore.
Visto il consenso ottenuto, su alcuni amplificatori queste unità Top Boost furono installate già in fabbrica dando vita al Vox AC30/6 TB. L’aggiunta della valvola supplementare aveva donato al canale Brilliant chiarezza e guadagno a volontà e l’introduzione dei due controlli di tono separati per bassi e alti consentivano una ampliata versatilità timbrica e una presenza ineguagliata.

Once again, Dick Denney has made a further refinement of the AC30 circuit. Denney's response to the most demanding musicians' instances was an additional module with an additional pre-amplifier valve and two potentiometers for adjusting the tone on the Brilliant channel. This unit, known as Brilliance, became available in 1961 as an optional accessory on Vox catalogs, where it was reported as Top Boost. The module could be installed by a technician through an opening that was used in the back panel.
Given the consensus that, on some amplifiers, these Top Boost units were already installed at the factory, giving rise to the Vox AC30 / 6 TB. Addition of the extra valve had given the Brilliant channel clear clarity and gain at will, and the introduction of the two separate tone controls for bass and heights enabled a widened timbral versatility and unmatched presence.
