Ladies and gentlemen, Dale Wilson has hit another home run with this 1960 Fender Stratocaster from 2018. It is made with one of Dale's incredibly accomplished signature 'Heavy Relic' finishes, which he is known for.
The fat C-shaped neck profile plays like a dream. The three hand-wound singlecoil pickups provide plenty of classic Fender tone. There's a delicious combination of 'HW 69 Strat' singlecoil in the Neck- and Middle position, and a 'HW Fat 50s' singlecoil in the Bridge position. This combination has a little extra 'quack' in the upper midrange and that glassy bell-like John Mayer tone in the 4th postiton. The bass response is both warm and open, which compliments the lighter tones perfectly.
Whether you're playing tight funk rhythms, strumming big open chords or playing wailing blues solos - it all feels just as natural as breathing on this guitar. It also compliments the sound, when you add some overdrive because there are plenty of harmonic pop all the right places.
