Fender Vintage / Tweed Deluxe / 1952 / Tweed / Amp
This Fender tweed Deluxe is from 1952. It has a 5a3 circuit. This amplifier has a number of original components including the power transformer to name one. I believe the tubes are original too. They are vintage at the very least. It has one Tung Sol, two Visseaux Radio tubes, an RCA, and one Raytheon tube stamped "U.S. Navy." One of the best features of this amp is that it is completely hand-wired and constructed point to point. It also has few upgrades including the Fender vintage replacement cabinet, which accounts for it's pristine condition, a transformer, and the Weber speaker. The last two were needed because of it's age, to preserve it's tone. Things go bad in old amps, of course. Make no mistake, this one has been well cared for and maintained.
How does it sound? In a word, fantastic. I have other early 1950s Fender Deluxe amps and have experience when it comes to listening for their trademark tone. This one sounds as it should, like a vintage Deluxe. To be sure, I have A/B'd it with two other 1951 Deluxe amps and a 1952 and it sounds the same. This amp, as do all early 1950s Deluxe amps, has the nicest sounding high end I have ever heard. I can't emphasize enough that it is a must for anyone looking for superior tone. I guarantee the value of this amp. I guarantee you will be happy with your purchase.
Another important feature I want you to take note of: This is an excellent price! Have a look on Google -- other 1952 Deluxe amps will ask for 2,500-3,000 -- Sometimes more. Save some money and get the same tone for a lower price. Since it has had some work and is in excellent shape, it is a player's amp and is ready for the road or the studio.
