For sale Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 50 watt head tube guitar amplifier. I bought it in the US, it is a 2008 model, serial no 1821. I purchased it right before moving back to Europe, kind of “in case” I would need it in the future. I’m moving again and that is why I need to sell it. This amp has the SLX mode.

 All in all, this amp has between 50 – 80 hours of playing only in my home studio. Never gigged, stored in no-smoking, clean environment this amp is in absolutely mint, store-ready, like-new condition. Works perfectly and flawlessly and there are literally no musical limits for this beast. The lush clean channel, delicate overdrive and even heavy distortion are incredibly articulate, this amp is fast and unforgiving to any mistakes or lack of precision or technique, but a good player is rewarded with the palette of sounds you can only get from a real boutique gem like this one. It is fitted with 2 6L6 power tubes and produces enough power you will ever need.

If you’re seriously considering purchasing an amp at this level you are probably familiar with Andy Fuchs and his products and possibly his approach to amp making. This amp is as close to the mythical Dumble sound as you can get if you don’t want to spend 30k and up. There are no compromises when it comes to the quality of everything he does.

The amp operates either with 110 V (the US) or 220 V (Europe). It has a special toggle switch (see the pics) mounted originally by Andy Fuchs, a feature that I paid extra for when ordered it. This feature extends even further amazing flexibility that this amp offers.

Here is a more detailed description of the amp: 

The overdrive channel features separate OD in and OD out controls. OD-in sets the level of saturation in overdrive, while the OD out control sets the final balance between clean and dirty channels. There is a global master volume, master reverb and accent control, which adds presence and edge to the output stage.

The entire audio signal path is fully tube (except reverb). The ODS features a regulated high voltage DC supply for lowest noise, consistent tone despite line voltage variations, and also features regulated DC preamp tube heaters for additional noise reduction. These techniques are used in the finest audiophile and tube studio equipment, and are unique to guitar amps.

The output stage features separate 4, 8 and 16 ohm outputs, AC and standby switches, as well as a detachable IEC power cord and external fuse. The chassis is made of aircraft grade aluminum, finished in gold iridite for corrosion protection. We use a combination of point to point and circuit board construction. All tubes are chassis mounted, while the power and output transformers are mounted directly to the chassis. By using single point grounding, the amp is quiet and free of hum at all operating levels.

High current power transformers and audiophile grade output transformers are standard, and are custom built to our specifications.
