Hofner 470 E1 Acoustic  !   ( sixties )

( possibly the one and only to get ! )

Undoubtedly the most desirable Hofner is the famous "Golden" which
where made by Hofner for Selmer and only available in the UK. For the
"Rest of the World" Hofner produced the 470 as their "top of the line"
model, which is basically a "Golden" with the 1" smaller 17,36 siced
body and the smaller pre-63 hedstock and different fretboard-inlays
and the acoustic version was made out of thinner carved solid woods
than the electric version . However the main-features as the
11(!)-piece neck, the extensive Golden body-tortoiseshell-binding and
the „lilies inlay“ give her the most feminine back of a Archtop ever,
as well as the beautiful
additionally hardware and  ClipHaus Z-Tuner brass machine-heads are
the same. Most beautiful flamed anigre in combination with a spruce
top, „Rhythm Chief 1000“ give her a touch of „Hillbilly“ on a smooth
jazzy sound, even with 0,13 strings absolutely comfortable  to play
and great very loud direct acoustic sound with clear defined loud
basses and brilliant highs ( altho dedicated to Gypsy-Jazz ) . The
guitar is in excellent condition after complex and expensive
restoration to „high-end-player“ by Master Esmyol / München.

room stomped into the case and cracked the headstock which was now
professional repaired by Gorgeous in Nicosia and there is no danger
anymore to do problems also the Nitro-Lacquer of the sixties has a lot
of cracks which is naturally after that time .
