Production of Star IX guitar started in 1970 in Krnov. Jolana production line at that time included Star VII and Star VIII guitars, but Star IX was a whole new design concept. It featured new, radically reshaped body and pickups. Metallic colors were used on these guitars - probably to accomodate the futuristic body shape. The rest of construction was the same as on previous Star models.
The design of this guitar is repeated Schecter Apollo. In the hoi polloi guitar called a screwdriver. The case has been made out of some very light material, guitar seemed weightless. Back of the case were 2 mysterious blind holes, closed with plastic plugs.
Grief is screwed with four screws through the chrome plate, which also housed the top button for a belt. Maple neck had a weird profile. He was much more comfortable than on guitars made in the USSR, but inferior to the German.
Radius have not been lining, 20 frets were marked points of average size. Fret wire - thin and low, and had a zero fret guitar made of yellow metal. Truss rod nut, nut with holes located at the edges after the 20th fret. Vulture spoke quite highly of the case.
On the building housed two panels of white plastic with a black border. On one of them were attached 2 singles with solid ceramic magnets, and some guitars come across panels with convex frames around the pickups.
On the second panel covering tembroblok, placed volume control, pickup selector, type galetnik and another galetnik at work reminiscent Varitone.
The guitar was equipped with a tremolo similar in structure to the Jaguar / Jazzmaster. Lower saddle was rigidly fixed and can be moved by changing the intonation.
